Providing Tree Service in Tampa Bay since 2007.
These Are Just a Few Questions That We Hear Frequently.
Q: I was approached by someone who said that they were a "licensed Arborist." Is there such a thing as a licensed Arborist?
A: No. However, there are those out there who will try to confuse people by using terms that are strikingly similar, but don't be fooled! The only title recognized by the ISA is a Certified Arborist.
Q: I had a tree service tell me that my trees needed a hurricane prune. What is a hurricane prune?
A: DON'T DO IT! According to the ISA, and all pruning standards set forth by ANSI, there is no such thing as a hurricane prune. This is a tactic used by uneducated tree services to scare the public into thinking that their trees will fall unless all of the lower limbs of the canopy are removed, creating an "umbrella" appearance. This is detrimental to the health of your trees, as well as horribly unsightly! There is a reason that the top of a tree is called the "Canopy" and not the "Umbrella."
Q: Do I need to get a permit before removing trees from my yard even if they're dead?
A: Yes you do. Though it may seem unnecessary, it is always best to contact the city or county that you live in before removing any tree. The penalties can be very severe if trees are removed without properly approved permits.
Q: My neighbor's tree is sending limbs over the fence and into my yard. Is there anything I can do about it?
A: Yes there is. Though the tree originates in your neighbor's yard, you are not only allowed to properly maintain it, you are responsible for the maintenance of the portion of the tree that is over your property.
